Hospital Life

Your body temperature will be checked once a day around 10am. Please note that we will also ask about the frequency of urination and defecation since the previous day. Body temperature may be taken at other times depending on the patient's medical condition. The nurse will explain the procedure to you in the ward after your admission.

 

Meals

Meals will be prepared according to your medical condition.
Please inform us of any changes to meals or overnight stay by the deadline.
If you have any dietary problems, such as allergies, food intolerance, or food preferences, please notify the ward nurse so that a dietitian can consult with you.
Nutritional counseling is available in case of loss of appetite due to treatment. The Nutrition Support Team (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dietitians) also provides nutritional management assistance according to the patient's medical condition.
Those who take non-therapeutic meals can choose menus on designated days. There is no increase in co-pay due to the choice of meals.
We kindly ask you to eat your meal promptly after it is served.

Bathing

  1. Bathrooms and showers in the hospital wards
    Operating hours: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
    *Reservations are required for showers.
  2. View bath (6th floor of the New Wing)
    Operating hours: Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
    *Permission from the physician in charge is required to use the view bath. Please come to the nurses' station for a bathing card. When returning to the ward, please give the card back to the station. No valuables should be brought to the bath.

Laundry and Dry cleaning service

Washing machines and dryers are available (fee required). In-house laundry services are offered for washing pajamas, yukata (Japanese bathrobes), underwear, etc. (charged). It takes 3 to 4 days for the laundry to be done. Please ask the nurse for details.

 

Facilities in patient rooms

  1. TV
    All beds are equipped with pay TV (except in West Ward 2).
    Please purchase a dedicated card (hereinafter referred to as "TV card") to use the TV. TV Cards are available for 1,000 yen per card, and 1,000 yen allows you to watch 800 minutes of TV.
    Please use earphones when watching TV. Earphones are not provided, so please bring your own if you wish to use them. You can also purchase them at the convenience store in the center.
    broadcast can be viewed without using a TV card. However, please note that watching the video with the TV card in the slot will consume the remaining card balance.
    DVDs can also be watched.
  2. Refrigerator
    It is available for use when a TV card is inserted (100 yen for 24 hours).
  3. Safe and lockers
    The safe in the patient rooms is a simple safe. Please refrain from bringing in large amounts of cash or valuables.
  4. Curtains
    Please keep the curtains open during the daytime for early detection of suspicious persons and to prevent theft.
  5. Internet
    There is no Internet access in the patient rooms, but we have an "Internet Corner" in the day room of the wards (100 yen for 30 minutes).
    Please note, however, that you cannot connect to your own computer.
    *Detailed instructions on how to use the above facilities will be given in your ward room after your admission.

For your safety

  1. Patients will be asked to give their full names in the hospital wards, outpatient clinics, operating rooms, laboratories, etc. Thank you for your understanding that this is to prevent misidentification of patients.
  2. During hospitalization, patients are required to wear wristbands. This is also for the purpose of correct identification of the patient. We appreciate your cooperation.
  3. Please be careful not to fall down. It is very dangerous to hold onto the headboard or the over table at the side of the bed. If you have any concerns about standing or walking, please be sure to notify our nurses.
  4. In order to ensure patient safety, bed fences may be adjusted and/or bed release mats and sensors may be used.

Cigarettes and Alcohol

Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the center, including the parking lot as well as inside the building. If you are a smoking person, please try to quit smoking before you are admitted to the hospital.

If you think it is difficult to quit smoking, please consult your doctor for a visit to the outpatient smoking cessation support center.

Drinking alcohol is not allowed in the hospital. The same applies to beer-flavored and other non-alcoholic beverages.

Please note that even when returning from an overnight stay, you are not allowed to return to the hospital after consuming alcoholic beverages.

Going out and Overnight Stay

Permission from a physician is required for both outings and overnight stays. Please note that permission is also required when going out of the hospital, such as for a walk outside the hospital grounds or shopping in the neighborhood.

As a rule, overnight stays are limited to two days and one night.

Doctor's rounds

Every Thursday afternoon, the hospital director, deputy director, and others make rounds of the wards.

Others

  1. During hospitalization, please respect the hospital rules and follow the instructions of the physicians and nurses.
  2. You may be asked to move your room or bed during your hospitalization.
  3. Lights out is at 9:30 pm. Please be quiet after that time. Lights will be turned on at 6:00 am.
  4. Please check the emergency exits upon admission. In the event of an emergency, please follow the guidance of the staff.
  5. Please separate garbage and dispose of it at the designated place.
  6. The schedule for discharge will be decided after consultation with your doctor and the head nurse of the ward.
  7. Please do not open or close the windows in the hospital, as the building is fully air-conditioned.
  8. If you would like a medical certificate, please ask at the central reception desk. (If you have a designated form, please bring it with you.)

Amenities

  • Large-screen TV (free of charge) in the common day room
  • Telephone room for common use
  • Individual light fixtures, small desks, bedside tables, and televisions (with prepaid hospital cards) for each motorized bed
  • Refrigerator, telephone, and fax machine in each room
  • Bath with a view
